Objective: To observe the therapeutic effects of Kannaoling Oral Liquid (NOL) on multicerebral infarction.
　　

　　Methods: l50 cases with multi cerebra infarction selected according to The Diagnostic Criteria for Senescent Dementia made by Academic Committee of Cerebropathy, All-China Association of TCM in l990, were randomly divided into two groups: l00 cases in treated group, 50 cases in control group. Patients in the treated group were given l0ml NOL per time; those in the control group were given 0.2g Pyrithioxine hydrochloride per time, 3 times daily. The treatment course contained 3 months.

Result: In treated group, the excellenteffect rate was l3%, effective rate was 35%, and the total rate was 48%, which was superior to that in control group. After treatment, there were apparent improvements in the social functional activities and indexes of blood rheology in treated group, While no changes in cholesterolemia and blood triglyceride. There were no changes in above-mentioned indexes in control group

Conclusion: NOL can treat multi cerebral infarction-induced dementia, promote their social activity abilities without any side effects.
