Seitai Acupuncture Offers Kampo Medicine to Patients

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Nov. 06, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Many patients benefit from Kampo medicine, or Japanese herbs, as part of their treatment program. Kampo medicine is often used with acupuncture and other complementing services to treat a wide range of conditions and improve overall health, shares Seitai Acupuncture. Kampo medicine can relieve pain, improve fertility, address high blood pressure, improve immune system response and more. Many patients experience fewer side effects when treated with Kampo; compared to those experienced by patients taking prescribed Western medicines. The Seitai Acupuncture approach to holistic treatment makes proven eastern techniques available for use in patient care.
Use of herbs has long been a part of Chinese medicine in the treatment of various ailments. However, other nations also have a long history of prescribing herbs for illness and disease. Kampo medicine is prescribed to patients by 70 percent of physicians in Japan. These physicians include gynecologists, urologists, cardiologists and gastrointestinal specialists. Kampo medicine is often combined with acupuncture and moxibustion in a treatment program.

Kampo medicine addresses a wide range of conditions and symptoms. Symptoms include menstrual problems, endometriosis, PCOS, Male Factor Infertility, recurrent urinary tract infections, high blood pressure, circulation issues, IBS, GERD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, lower back pain, migraines, arthritis, colds and flu, allergies, low energy and immune deficiencies. Kampo medicine is used on a wide range of patients with a variety of health conditions.

“Kampo medicine can be useful to reduce discomfort and promote optimal physiological function in patients,” said Boris Shapiro, L. Ac., MSTOM and founder of Seitai Acupuncture. “I have seen the impact that Kampo medicine has had on my patients. Japanese herbs can be easily incorporated with other components of a treatment program to provide relief for a wide range of symptoms. The best thing about these herbs is that they are easy for the body to absorb with fewer side effects than many medications and are often more effective. A thorough evaluation occurs before beginning any treatment program and we are sensitive to the needs and preferences of every patient. We invite those curious about Kampo medicine to contact us and find out more about our approach.”
