Objective: To observe the therapeutic effects of treating alcoholic fatty liver by Chinese herbs combined with autohemo-light quantum.

Methods: 56 patients are divided into 36 cases of the therapeutic group and 20 cases of the control group. There is no obvious difference in their sex, age, and duration of illness and symptoms. The therapeutic group takes Ruanganhuazhi Tang (decoction for soaking liver and removing fat), consisting of Danshen Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae) 30g, Sahngzha (Fructus Crataegi) 30g,Gegen (Radix Puerariae) 30g, Biejia (Carapax trionycis) 15g, Fuling (Poria cocos) 15g, Chaihu (radix Bupleuri) 12g, Baishao (Radix Paeoniae Alba) 12g, Dannanxing (Arisaema cum Bile) 12g, Banxia (Rhizoma Pinelliae) 10g, Zhuru (Caulis Bambuase in Taeniam) 10g, Zhishi (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus) 10g, and Chenpi (Pericarium Citri Reticulatae) 10g. One decoction is taken a day, 1 month make a course, every other thee days, apply autohemo-light quantum for the patient. Methods: 200ml of blood is taken from the patient's vein, then put blood into light quantum apparatus and give the ultraviolet radiation of 10 biological dose, then supply oxygen with oxygen now of 5L /min. After 15-2o min radiation, the blood gets reddish and reaches blood oxygen saturation and is injected back into the body. 10 treatments make a course. The patients of control group take Fenofibrate twice a day, 100-200mg once, and ATP, three times a day, 20-40mg once, 1 month make a course. Alcohol is forbidden for all the Patients during treatment. After one course, observe the therapeutic effects.

The therapeutic standards:
cured level: the symptoms disappear, blood fat and liver restore normal, ultrasonic echogram is normal, the Outline of liver is clean, the light points in the liver distribute homogeneously.

Improved: pain in hepatic region disappears, hepatomegaly decreases, bloods fat and liver function basically restore normal, and the fat obviously improves through ultrasonic examination.

Ineffective level: there is no obvious improvement in symptoms, ultrasonic examination, and lab examination.

Results: 25 cases of the therapeutic groan are cured, 10 cases improved, 1 case ineffective, the total effective rate being 97.2%; 5 cases of the control group are cured, 9 cases improved, 6 cases ineffective, the total effective rate being70% (P <0.01).

Conclusion: Treatment of alcoholic fatty liver can obtain the better therapeutic effects through Chinese herb combined with autohemo-light quantum.
