Clinical Observation of Electro-head-acupuncture Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease

The Parkinson's Disease (PD) was recorded in the ancient Chinese medical book Huang Di Nei Jing about more than two thousand years ago. The incidence of PD is increasing in recent years. I have treated 21 cases of PD by using electro- head- acupuncture supplementing with body and auricular acupuncture and got a good effect. Among 21 cases, 18 cases were male and 3 female. All of the patients were treated by Western medicine but without effect before they visited me. I treated them mainly by means of electro- head- acupuncture at " Wu Dao Zhen Chan on" point and a suplement of body 'and auricular acupuncture at points Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Taixi (KI 3), Zusanli (ST 36), Pizhixia of auricular point, etc.. Acupuncture treatment was given once every other day with 12 times constituting one therapeutic course and a 7- day's interval between two courses. The Semen Vaccariae were stuck on the auricular points and pressed 3 times a daily by patients themselves on time. 8 cases were excellent, in whom the three symptoms (tremor, myotonia, sensory disturbance) and physical signs greatly improved or disappeared; 13 cases were better, in whom three symptoms and physical signs were improved. The total effective rate was 100 %.
