Clinical Application Of Self-prescribed herbs in Treating Hypertension

  
Objective: To observe clinical effect of self-prescribed herbs in treating hypertension.

Methods: The Prescribed herbs consists of raw Radix Rehmanniae, Chalcanthitum, Fructus Corni, Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Rhizoma Alismatis, Poris Cocos, Haematitum, Ramulus Uucariae cum Uncis, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Radix Scrophulariae, pollen, Vaccaria segetalis, and Rhizoma Gastrodiae.
  
Modifications: plus date stone, Succinum for hypertension with heart disease; plus Radix Bupleuri, Radix Scutellariae, Radix Asparagi for type of deficiency of Yin of the liver and kidney; plus Semen Cuscutae, Plastrum Testudinis, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, Certex Phellodendri and Herba Leonuri, and minus Rhizoma Gastrodiae for hypertension caused by nephrosis; plus Rhizoma Pinelliae and Rhizoma Arisaematis for type of phlegm-dampness plus Scolopendra (ground into powder to take by Pouring hot water in) for nerve hypertension.
  
Administration: l dosage for each day, 3 times daily, 7 days makes a course.

Contraindication: spicy, salt, food hard to digest.

Result: 58 cases of hypertension were treated, generally, very good effect achieved in l course, maximum 3 courses. l4 cases were cured in l course, 32 cases were cured in 2 courses, l0 cases were cured in 3 courses, and 2 cases were improved greatly effective rate is l00%. Conclusion: There was an ideal effect in treating hypertension with the Prescription.
