Clinical Research on Hyperviscosity Blood Syndrome Treated with "Jiang Nian" Capsules

　　
Objective: To observe the clinica1 effects of hyperviscosity blood syndrome treated with Jiang Nian Capsules.

Methods: The two groups were the patients of hypertension, coronary heart disease, ischemic cerebrovascular disease and diabetes. The patients were divided into treatment group, l98 cases, and control group, l96 cases. Jiang Nian Capsules, consisting of leech, pruraria root chuanxiong rhizom, safflower, fleece-flower root, hawthorn fruit and red sage root, etc. was given for the treatment group, 3 capsules each time, oral1y 3 times daily, 30 days constituting a course of treatment. The control group was given tea pigment capsules, 0.25mg each time, 3 times daily, 30 days making a course of treatment. Observation method is that the two groups of patients were stopped any drugs affecting blood lipids, blood sugar and blood rheology one week before and in the treatment, but activity and diet as usual. The syndromes, the indexes of blood sugar, blood sugar, blood lipids and blood rheology and blood, urine routine and function of the liver and kidney were observed.

The Standard of therapeutic effects was that:
 (l) Obviously effective: clinical symptoms disappeared, abnormal indexes of blood rheology decreased into normal level;

(2) Effective: clinical symptoms improved, the indexes of blood rheology turned close to normal level or obviously improved;

(3)Ineffective: the symptoms did not significantly, all the abnormal indexes do not change or worsened.

Results: In the treatment group, 43.4% was obviously effective, 5l.5% effective, the total effective rate 94.9%. In the control group, 36.7% was obviously effective, 48.5% effective, the total effective rate 85.2%. There was significant difference between the two groups in the total effective rates (P<0.05). 86 cases in the treatment wee abnorma1 blood lipids. After treatment, TC, TG decreased significantly and HDL increased (P<0.0l). In the control group, 78 cases were abnormal blood lipids. After treatment, TC decreased obviously and HDL increased, but TG had no obvious changes (p<0.05). After treatment, whole blood specific viscosity plasma specific viscosity packed cell volume, fibrinogen, blood sedimentation and platelet aggregation rate decreased significantly (p<0.05, P<0.0l) in the treatment group. In the control group, after treatment blood rheology was certainly improved but only plasma specific viscosity packed cell volume, fibrinogen and platelet aggregation rate had statistical significance (p<0.05).

Conclusion: Jiang Nian Capsules has satisfactory effects in decreasing blood lipids and improving blood rheology and has good therapeutic effects on hyperviscosity blood syndrome.
