Objective: To observe clinical effect of Jiangyayishou Wan (bolus to reduce blood pressure and benefit to longevity) in the treatment of hypertension.

Methods: Before this drug is used, to stop using other drugs to reduce blood Pressure, also to stop using sedatives and drugs to reduce blood-fat. Blood Pressure was measured on each consultation, unified criteria were used for diagnosis, Stage division and judgment for effect. 8 weeks was the duration to observe each case.

Administration: 1 bolus of Jiangyayishou (consists of Rhizoma Pinelliae, Radix astragal seu Hedysari, Chalcanthitum, Spica Prunellae and wild Flos Chrysanthemi etc., to be ground into fine powder, honey bolus was prepared, each bolus weighs 9 grams) was orally taken each time, 3 times daily.

Result: l020 cases were treated, with obvious effect: 687 cases (67.35%), with effect: 297 cases (29.l2%), no effect; 36 cases (3.53%). Overall effective rate: 96.47%.
Conclusion: The drug is fairly effective in treating hypertension.
