Study on Relationship among Blood Stasis Syndrome and ET, CGRP and NO

Objective: To explore the relationship among blood stasis syndrome and ET CGRP and NO in the cases of vascular sclerosis dementia (VD).

Methods: The mark of blood stasis syndrome, and the levels of ET CGRP and NO were measured in 65 cases of VD, Which included moderate- mild dementia (VD. l, 30 cases) group and severe dementia (VD.2, 35 cases) group. At the same time, 30 age-matched healthy cases were served as the control group.

Result:
(l) Compared with aged-matched healthy cases, all the VD patients had apparent blood stasis, the mark of blood stasis in VD.2 was significantly higher than that in VD. l (P<0.0l);

(2) ET level in VD group was significantly higher than that in the control group, While the level of CGRP and NO was markedly lower (P<0.0l). ET in VD.2 group was higher, while CGRP and NO significantly lower than that in VD.l group (P<0.0l);

(3) Correlation analysis showed that there was closed negative correlation between ET and CGRP as well as between ET and NO, while closed positive correlation between CGRP and NO. There was positive correlation between the mark of blood stasis and ET While negative correlation between the mark of blood stasis and CGRP NO (P<0.0l).

Conclusion: Blood stasis occurs in VD patients, which confirms that removing blood stasis should be used in the treatment of VD. The disorder of ET, CGRP and NO play important roles in VD.
