The Therapeutic Effects of Oral Medication and External Application of Chinese


 

Objective: Observe therapeutic effects of oral medication and external application of Chinese drugs on prostatitis.

Methods: (l) Prescription for oral medication consisted of Flos Lonicerae, Rhizoma Coptidis, Radix Scutellariae, Cortex Phellodendri, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Radix Bupleuri, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Fructus Gareniae, Talcum, Poria and Herba Leonuri. They were soaked in water for 20 minutes and then decocted for 20 minutes. After the decoction was poured out, 20ml water was added and they were decocted for another 20 minutes. The solution of two times of decoction was mixed and then was divided into 3 parts for 3 times of oral administration, one dose for each day totally 30 doses; (2) External application of drugs: Fresh crude drugs, Herba Taraxaci, Herba Emiliae and others were pounded to pieces and then a little of fried Moschus was added. The drugs were applied to the perineum, twice each day10-l5 minute each time, for a total of 20 days.

Result: Of the 200 cases of prostatitis treated, l82 cases were cured, l8 cases improved. The cured rate was 9l% and the effective rate was 100%.

Conclusion: The therapy has higher and rapid therapeutic effect, with no side effect.
