Clinical Research on the Treatment of Endometriosis with Point-injection and
Objective: To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of endometriosis treated by isolated moxibustion with herbal cake and point injection.
Methods: The herbal cake was composed of the herbs for warming yang, resolving mass and activating blood circulation, it was 2cm in diameter and 0.5cm in thickness. There were two groups of points, i.e. Zhongji (CV3) and Guanyuan (CV4); Ciliao (BL32) and Qihai (CV6), applied for moxibustion alternatively once every two days. In each treatment, 3 moxa cones were required and two-month treatment made one course. The points for injection included Ciliao (BL32), Zusanli (ST36), Diji (SP8), Sanyinjiao (SP6) and Fenglong (ST40). In each treatment, two points were selected and injected with Fu Fang Danshen (Compound Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae) injecting, 2ml for each point. The points were selected alternatively once every second day. Two-month treatment made one course.
Results: 37 cases of mild and severe endometriosis were treated with the above-mentioned methods for 3 to 5 courses. The effective rate for dysmenorrhea was 85.91%, for irregular menstruation was 90.90%, for tender node in the pelvic cavity was 90.00%, for ovary cyst was 69.23%, for adenomyomatosis was 57.14% and for infertility was 37.50%. The total effective rate was 81.08%.
Conclusion: Moxibustion with isolated herbal cake and point injection can not only regulate the immunity and endoerine functions in the whole body, but also promote the circulation of Qi and blood, activate blood circulation to remove stasis and regulate blood flow in the pelvic cavity. The study explores a new therapy for the treatment of endometriosis.
