The Influence of Acupoint injection on CEA Of Patients with CAG
Objective: To observe the change in cancer embryo antigen (CEA) of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) before and after the treatment of acupoints injection.
Methods: The selected points are Zusanli (ST36), Weishu (BL21) and Ganshu (BL18). Astraglas Root injection and Chinese Angeliaz Root Injection are used. 10ml injector and No.5 syringe needle are employed. The doctor should draw 4ml of each solution mentioned above (5ml in total) into the injector and shake to mix the 2 solutions fully. As for Weishu (BL21) and Ganshu (BL18), the needle should be inserted perpendicularly toward the skin or obliquely toward the vertebra to the depth within 2cm. Zusanli (ST36) can bear an inserting depth of 2.5-3cm. If no blood is seen when the syringe is withdrawn, the solution can be injected into the tissue. Each point is injected with 2ml solution. Acupoints on the left and right sides are used alternatively. The injection is done every 2 days. 3 months constituted 1 course of treatment. The curative effect will go through the statistic process after 3 months. Gastroscopy was done before and after the treatment.3-4 pieces of pathological biopsy specimen were taken and then disposed by means of formalin fixation, paraffin embedding and serial section. The section should be 4cm thick. The part of the specimen should be identified as the same before and after the treatment, if possible. The same doctor performed gastroscopy, so was the pathological examination. CEA was provided by DAKO Company, and ABC method is adopted.
Results: After 1-2 courses of treatments, in 24 CAG patients' most clinical symptoms were relieved. The total integral value of CEA after treatment was 2.520±2.356 compared that of 4.229±2.710 before treatment, Which suggests that the positive rate and positive intensity in CEA of CAG patients' gastric mucosa were reduced distinctively.
Conclusion: Acupoints injection therapy has an inhibitory influence on the malignant change of epithelial cells of gastric mucosa, so as to cure CAG and prevent carcinomatous change.
