Clinical Observation on the Treatment of 100 Cases of Acute Cholecystagia


 

Objective: To observe the effect of treating acute cholecystagia with acupuncture and discuss the valid method of rapid pain prevention.

Methods: Major acupoints were Gandan 1 (5 fen below Shenzhu), Gandan 2 (5 fen below Shendao). Adjunct acupoints: Netting (ST44), Gongsun (SP4), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Dannang (EX-LE6). Neiguan (PC6) and Zusanli (ST36) were added when vomiting. Manipulations: After normal sterilizing the points, Gandan 1 and Gandan 2 were punctured vertically with filiform needle of l.5 Cun. In order to make the feeling of needling go to back and spread to the chest and abdomen, lifting, thrusting and twining the needle and strong stimulation of purgation method were used. Strong stimulation of purgation method was also used on Netting (ST44), Gongsun (SP4), Sanyinjiao (SP6), and Dannang (EX-LG6). For each acupoint the needle was retained for 20 minutes. Manipulations were given with the interval of 5 minutes.

Results: 100 cases were treated. Among them 88 cases had calculus on cholecyst, 10 cases had calculus on bile duct and 2 cases had malformation on gallbladder 86 patients felt the pain disappear and could move on the ground among Which 77 patients were cholelith, seven were calculus on bile duct and two were malformation on gallbladder. Twelve cases felt only a little pain after one treatment among which ten patients were cholelith, two were calculus on bile duct. Two people felt no reduction on pain after acupuncture among which one was cholelith, another was calculus on bile duct.

Conclusion: The method used to treat cholecystagia has remarkable curative effect for every types of calculus.
