A New Way for Treatment of Hepatopathy with External Treatment
Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of Chinese medicinal herb ion-introduction therapy for treatment of hepatopathy.
Methods: 220 cases of chronic active hepatitis were randomly divided into ion-introduction group (n=110) and control group (n=110). Patients of the two groups were also treated with the supporting therapy including Vitamin E, energy mixture, etc. In the ion- introduction group, of the 110 cases, 88 were male and 12 female, ranging in age from 19 to 58 years and with an average age of 38.5 years; the average duration of disease was 2.8 years. In the control group, 92 cases were male and 18 female, the average age was 39.5 years and the average duration of disease was 3 years. In addition, indexes of the liver function in the two groups had no significam difference. Ganbing Waizhi No.II (No.II for treatment of hepatopathy with external treatment) was made up of Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri), Huzhang (Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati), etc. which were made into drug liquid at a concentration of 40% (PH<6). The Chinese medicinal herb fluid was introduced into the patient's body from Qimen (LR 14). The treatment was conducted once daily, with 10 sessions being a therapeutic course, continuously for 3 4 courses.
Results: After treatment, of the 110 cases in ion-introduction group, 33 (30%) had marked improvement, 68 (61.8%) had improvement, and 9 (8.2%) had no any significant changes, with an effective rate of 99.5%. In the control group, 20 cases (18.2%) had marked improvement, 60 (54.5%) had improvement and 30 (27.3%) had no any improvement, with an effective rate of 72.7%. There was a significant difference between two groups in the therapeutic effect (p<0.01).
