Systematization and Standardization of the Location of 100 Classical Ear

Objective: In order to establish a system to define exactly the topographical location of the classical ear acupuncture points the author has been using a highly precis punctos cope to identify the 100 common-used ear acupuncture points. During his twenty-years practice he has recognized after clinical long-termed observation on more than thousand patients, that the 100 common ear acupuncture points are not located disorderly, but they are grouped systematically on certain vertical and horizontal axes, those are fixed on particular anatomical parts of the auricle. For example the ear acupuncture points a, b, c, d, e.. can be identified on a same vertical line, during the points a, f, g, h are located surely on another horizontal line. Under this observation every ear acupuncture point can be located and identitled at the crossing of the two defined vertical and horizontal axes. The main question is, how to define. standardized XY coordination system to locate all of the common ear acupuncture points diagrammatically?

Methods: (1) He has tested and proved on two hundreds Germany patients, that the 100 common ear acupuncture points are grouped surely on defined horizontal and vertical axe: connecting with particular anatomical remarks of the auricle. He has also found out, that the location of the ear acupuncture points is independent to the side of human body and auricle form. It is only related to the proportional distribution on the ear surface; (2) In relation to the theory "Similarity between embryo and auricle" the author has invented and developed a XY coordination system on the surface of the auricle, that enables the exact location and identification of every of the 100 common ear acupuncture points through constant mathematical data. His invention was to be sure that his method is worldwide usable, the author has proved finally his research results on an international group of l50 tested persons coming from l7 different nations.

Results: After different repeated clinical examinations the author can conclude finally that the common 100 classical ear acupuncture points can be located and identified exactly with defined coordination data for every ear acupuncture point based on their individual proportion in relation to the individual length (y) and the breadth (x) of the auricle. Under this commitment the author has defined the coordination values of every ear acupuncture point due to the fol1owing formula:
  Location data of ear acupuncture point = (X*a%,Y*b%)
  X=breadth of the ear surface
  Y=length of the ear surface
  a and b =coordination constant data for every ear acupuncture Point.
