Objective: To study the regularities and methods of application of source-points.

Methods: (1) Functions of source-points and its relation with Zang-fu organs Source- points are the site where the primordial Qi of Zang-fu-organs flows and stays. Disorders of the internal organs may be reflected at their own source-points; and the twelve source-points have a special relation with activities of Zang-fu-organs; (2) Regularities of acupoint compatibility of the source-points: a)Combination among source-points of Zang-fu-organs; b) Combination of source-points and Shu-points; c)Combination of source-points and Luo-points; d) Combination of source-points and He-points; e) Clinical application of source-points: The source-points are often used to effectively treat diseases of the five Zang- and six Fu- organs and also used to treat the visceral injury and different miscellaneous diseases.

Conclusion: From source-point, the State of functional activities of Zang-fu-organs, the prosperity or decline of Qi and blood as well as changes of body resistance and pathogenic factors can be known. Acupuncture Stimulation of source-points processes a dual-directional regulative action on functional activities of the body by way of suitable needling manipulations.
