Hydro-Acupuncture for Pain Syndromes
Objective : Observing the clinical therapeutic effect of hydro-acupuncture treatment for various pains.
Methods: In each session hyaluronidase was injected into 1-3 following points selected according to the affected region of pain, i.e. Baihui (GV 20), Fengchi (GB 20), Xiaguan (ST 7), Dazhui (GV 14), Jianwaishu (SI 14), Qihu (ST 13), Jiuwei (CV 15), Shentang (BL 44), Zhiyang (GV 9), Mingmen (GV 4), and sacroiliac region. Injection of 1-3 ampoules of hyaluronidase powder (1500IU/ampoule) mixed with normal saline was made once per day or once every other day, 5-10 sessions constituted one course of treatment. skin test was made prior to the first treatment.
Results: 1600 cases of different pains were treated, including migraine, shoulder-neck pain, lumbago and lower limb pain, trigeminal neuralgia. The total effective rate of the trCattheot was 98%. In the follow-up survey of 120 cases, the therapeutic effect of 84 cases was stable, and the rest of the cases were encountered with relapse in a period of l-6 years, however the treatment resumed for the relapsed cases was still effective.
Conclusion: The long term ther4Peutic effect of arupoint injection with hyaluronidase for headache, facial pain, neck-shoulder pain, lumbago and leg pain is good, and the treatment is free from side effects. Injection of hyaluronidase into the points of Governor Vessel and Conception Vessel has a systemic regulative effect; it is also effective for the associated mental symptoms of pains.
