Objective: Observing clinical effect of treatment of theca cyst by combination of filiform needle with hot-red needle.

Methods: Selecting fire needle with 0.5mm diameter in New Nine Needles and NO.28 filiform needles with l-2 cun. After regular sterilization, pinch and lift the theca cyst with left hand, hold filiform needle with right hand, insert needle obliquely to penetrate through theca cyst, and performs lifting, thrusting, rotating manipulations 5 to 7 times. Takes needle out, then apply one time needling on each up, down, left and right directions of theca cyst, press ganglia with a cotton ball, make sticky fluid out of the theca cyst Then, hold hot-red needle, heat it up on an alcohol burner. Then, rapidly insert the red-hot needle into the base of theca cyst (avoid blood vessels) and takes it out. Repeat the procedure again and again., there are 3 needling if the cyst is small, and 5 to 7 needling if cyst is bigger. Squeeze and press the cyst to make remaining fluid to be excreted completely. At last, doctor sterilizes the cyst region with iodine and binds it up with pressure. This method will be repeated once after 7 days if disease is not cured after first time. The affected area is free from water within 3 days after treatment for prevention of infection.

Results: 48 cases are treated, 32 cases are cured (theca cyst disappears, functional activities turn normal, no relapse is found within one year) after one treatment 15 cases are cured after two treatments, 1 cases is very effective (theca cyst disappears, functional activities the to normal, hot disease will rehappen within one year. The cure rate is 97.9%.

Conclusion: This method has a high cure rate and low recurrence rate, so is worthy of popularization.
