Grapefruit Aroma Helps People on Slimming Diet
TOKYO, Jan 17, 2002 (Itar-Tass via COMTEX) -- The aroma of grapefruit mixed with black pepper and some plants produces a surprisingly strong slimming effect, claims the Shisheido Cosmetics company, one of the biggest in the world.
The company claims to be the first to establish a direct link between scent and formation of one of the proteins which activates the process of breaking up fat in a human organism.
As a result of experiment the company produced a lotion emanating strong grapefruit aroma and scent of other plants, with caffeine as one of the components, which breaks up fat.
Twenty women involved in the experiment tried the lotion on the skin, and in approximately a month's time the women from the test group lost some weight and became narrower in the waist. Shisheido experts declared that the women who took part in the experiment led a usual way of life without excess physical loads.
The Japanese company concluded that its grapefruit-caffeine lotion not only breaks up fat, but prevents its accumulation. The Shisheido intends to officially announce its new slimming recipe at a conference of the Japanese Pharmaceutical Society in March.
The company is planning to begin sales of its new aromatic slimming lotion in summer.
