MONROVIA, Calif., Sep 25, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The National Health Federation (NHF), a not-for-profit corporation, an alternative health consumer advocate organization, today announced their San Diego 2001 Natural Health and Fitness Expo to be held the weekend of 27 - 28 October at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. Over 45 different speaker sessions and 180 exhibitors will be at this year's show focusing on new breakthroughs in health and medicine that have yet to reach the mainstream.

The National Health Federation is best known for their work fighting for the mandatory inspection of poultry in the 1950s, to help chiropractors become legally licensed in over 40 states in the 1960s, and successfully campaigning for legislative recognition of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine in the 1980s.

The National Health Federation will also be honoring Governor Jesse Ventura and the State of Minnesota for recognizing the importance of personal health choices and the right to alternative care by passing the most comprehensive alternative health care bill ever in the United States - Statute 146A, the Complementary and Alternative Health Freedom of Access Act of 2000.
