Objective: observe the effect of external treatment method on osteohyperplasia.

Methods: Compound Wutou Tincture (Compound Radix Aconiti Tincture) is processed by over 10 kinds of herbs including Chuanwu (Radix Aconiti), Caowu (Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii), Weilingxian (Radix Clematidis), Buguzhi (Fructus Psoraleae), Sanqi (Radix Notoginseng), Xuejie (Resina Draconis), Jixueteng (Caulis Spatholobi), Baihuashe (Agkistrodon acutus). The method of process of Baihuashe (Agkistrodon acutus) in the editable alcohol for one week and the other ingredients in the 1500ml water for half an hour, heat the fluid over the mild fire for half an hour, filtrate the medicinal fluid, mix the first two decoction, heat it again over the mild fire to condense it into 250ml fiuld, finally, mix it with Baihuashe alcohol for use. Electric Medicinal Penetrating Skin Apparatus is used. First, soak 5 to 6 -layers of absorbent gauze as the same sias with the electrode of the apparatus into the medicinal fluid, then put it on the region with hyperplasia or corresponding points (for example, Weizhong (BL40) for lumbago), cover it by electric board, and fix it by belt. Turn on the swith, increase the electricity gradually to the degree at which there are hot or needling sensation on the painful area or corresponding points. It is applied 20 to 30 minutes each time, once a day and 10 times constitutes one course.

Results: A total of 40 cases are treated, of which, 18 are cured, and 12 are remarkably effective, 5 improved, and 5 ineffective. The total effective rate is 87.5%. The duration of treatment ranged from 10 days to two months with 35 days in average.

Conclusion: With simple application, no side effects, and easy acceptance by the patient, it is a good method for the treatment of osteohyperplasia and all kinds of pain
　　syndromes.
