Objective: 40 cases of facial neuritis were treated with Kangwei Intelligence Electric Acupuncture Apparatus and 20 cases in control group were selected randomly and treated with common electro-acupuncture (EA). The clinical effect was observed.

Methods: In the two groups, Yangbai (GBl4) and Sibai (ST2) on the affected side of point group A, Dicang (ST4) and yfeng (SJl7) on the affected side of point group B were used and stimulated with EA. At the same time, Hegu (LI4) and Taichong (LR3) were also used in combination without EA. The treatment was given once a day. In Kangwei EA group, in case of wind-heat syndrome, the method of cool-producing needling was applied, for other types of syndromes, the heat-producing needling was used. In the
　　common electro-acupuncture group, dense-disperse waves were selected and stimulated for 30 minutes in each treatment. After l4 to 21 days, the therapeutic effect was analyzed.

Results: In 40 cases of the treatment group (Kangwei E1ectric Acupuncture group), 23 cases were cured (with disappearance of symptoms, normal facial expression, normal indexes in check of the body and the marks lowered above 95%), l3 were remarkably effective (the marks lowered less than 95% in various check), 4 were improved (the marks lowered less than 50% but more than 30%). All the cases were effectively treated. In 20 cases of the control group, 5 cases were cured, 9 were remarkably effective, 4 were improved, and 2 were ineffective. The total effective rate was 90%. at the treatment group was significantly better than the control group, it indicates that Kangwei Intelligence Electric Acupuncture Apparatus in treatment of facial neuritis according to the differentiation of syndromes possesses distinctive advantages.
