Influence of Acupuncture on the Monophasic Action Potential in AMl Model
Objective: This work was designed to observe the influence of acupuncture on the monophasic action potential (MAP) in AMI model dog and explore the mechanism of acupuncture treatment of AMI.
Methods: l0 hea1thy dogs were randomly and equally divided into acupuncture and control groups. After anesthesia with 3% pentobarbital sodium (30mg/kg) through intravenous injection, the dog was fixed on an experimental tab1e and ventilated artificially with MV-A type respirator. The heart was exposed from the space between the left third and fourth ribs and the left anterior descending (LAD) branch of coronary artery was separated. Before ligature, MAP of myocardium was recorded. In acupuncture group, "Neiguan" (P6) (twisting reducing method),"Sanyinjiao" (SP6) (lifting and thrusting reinforcing method),"Shenmen" (HT7) (twisting reinforcing method)
were stimulated for 1 minute and the needles were retained for 20 minutes.
Results: Stimulation of 'Neiguan","Sanyinjiao" and "Shenmen" points may increase the amplitude and ascend velocity of MAP of the ischemic myocardium and normalize various phases of MAPD and promote the recovery of the slope of phase II and III of MAP.
Conclusion: Acupuncture can improve the depolarization and repolarization processes of MAP and alleviate the ischemic status of the myocardium.
