Objective: To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of lumbago and leg pain treated With "Ga Er Di" injection.

Methods: 499 cases of lumbago and leg pain (272 cases of sciatica, 148 cases of rheumatic arthritis and 79 cases rheumatoid arthritis) were treated with intralnuscular injection self-prepared "GS Er Di" injection 1 to l.5 ml once a day. The blocking injection was ablied once a day in the local area. The main points: Shenshu (BL23), Huantiao (GB30), Yinmen (BL37), Chengshan (BL57), Weizhong (BL40) and Kunlun (BL60). Each point was injected with "Ge Er Di" 0.2ml, and the total amount was less than 3ml. The treadment course lasted half to two months.

Results: (l) Of the 272 cases of sciatica, 147 cases (54%) were cured, 120 cases (44.l%) improved and 5 cases (l.83o/o) had no effect. The total effective rate was 98.l%; (2) Of the 148 cases of rheumatic arthritis, 60 cases (40.5%) were cured, 71 cases (48%) improved and 17 cases (if.5%) had no effect. The total effective rate was 88.5%; (3) Of the 79 cases of rheumatoid arthritis, 12 cases (15.2%) were cured, 55 cases (69.6%) improved and 12 cases (15.2%) had no effect. The total effective rate was 84.8%.

Conclusion: "Ga Er Di" injection can receive a satisfactory clinical effect in treatment of lumbago and leg pain caused by sciatica, rheumatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
