Objective: To explore the effect of Shanhuang Jiangzhi Tablet (SJT), a preparation for reducing blood lipid, in the treatment of hyperlipidemia.

Methods: 600 cases of Hyperlipidemia were divided randomly into the treatment group (n=500), and the control group A and B (50 cases each), They were treated with SJT Alginic Sodium Diester and Gypenoside tablet respectively, and observed.

Result: In the treatment group, the serum cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) decreased and high-density lipoprotein cholestero1 (HDL-C) increased markedly, the difference was significantly as compared with the control groups (P<0.00l). The total effective rate in the treatment group was 99.2%, while that in the control group A was 52% and group B 72%, the difference between the treatment group and the control group was significant (P<0.00l).
　　
Conclusion: The lipid reducing effect of SJT is obviously superior to that of the control group, and is an ideal for the treatment of hyperlipidemia.
