Objective: To observe effect of Qing Xuan Yin (decoction of removing vertigo) in treating aged hypertension.

Methods: Qing Xuan Yin (self prescribed): Rarnulus Uncariae cum Uncis 30g, Cortex Moutan Radicis 25g, Lumbricus 20g, Flos Inulae 15g, Haematiyum 25g, Rhizoma Gastrodiae l0g, Radix Angelicae Sinensis l5g, Semen Persicae l0g, Radix Achyrantis Bidetatae l5g. This is the basic prescription.

Administration: l decoction daily, to take warm decoction orally l time in the morning and 1 time in the evening, during the period of taking the prescription, stop taking any other drugs for reducing blood pressure.

Result: After the treatment by the prescription, 4l cases got obvious effect, l7 cases got effect, 8 cases got no effect. Overall effective rate is 8l.8%. The effect of the prescription in treating aged hypertension is satisfactory.
