The treatment of prolapse of Lumbar and cervical intervertebral disc by electric magnetic needle

There were 26 patients, among which 16 males and 10 females; 25 cases of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc, 1 case of prolapse of cervical intervertebral disc; the shortest disease history was 2 months; the longest one year; the youngest age was 35 years old, the eldest 72 years old.

Treatment methods: corresponded jiaji points according to the CT picture and the most A-shi points in lumbar or cervical region were selected as the main prescription. If combined with symptoms of pressing of the nerve root, other points should be supplemented according to the running course of the meridians and the affected region. After the arrival of qi, connected the electric magnetic outlets of the DCZ-2 electric-magnetic machine with the needle handle of the two major points. Even-movement method was applied on those supplementary points. Retained the needle in for 20 minutes, treatment once each day, ten times treatment is one course.

The results showed that after 3 courses of treatment, one case was cured (3.84%), 18 cases were effective (69.23%), 6 cases were improved (23.07%), 1 case had no effect (3.84%). The total effective rate was 96.15%.

Among all the treated cases, 5 were male, 2 female, ranging from 26 to 51 years of age, with the minimal duration of disease for 20 days and maximal for more than 10 years.

Treatment: Jiaji points at the focus of the prolapse of the disc, tender spots in the lumbar region, GB30, BL54, BL36, BL37, BL40, GB34, BL57, BL60 are selected, but only 5 or 6 points are punctured each session.

A 3 cun filiform needle is used to puncture GB30 and the needling sensation should be conducted down to the sole. Warming-needle moxibustion is given at the major points, twice for each point. Cupping is performed at the tender spots when the needles are withdrawn. Acu-point injection is also combined, and 2ml of vitamin B12 500ug, can be injected into any 2 points or tender spots, 1ml in each point, once for every second day. The acupuncture and cupping are given once daily, 10 sessions make one course of treatment and there is a 3-to-5 day interval in between 2 courses. 1 course or 2 courses of treatment might be necessary.

As the result, among 15 cases, 2 were cured, 8 markedly effective, and 5 improved.

128 cases of sciatica treated by electroacupuncture

In recent ten years 128 cases of subsequent sciatica were observed and treated. Among them, 92 cases were out-patients and 36 cases were in-patients. According to the causes of the injury of sciatic nerve the clinical symptoms of radicular sciatica, plexus sciatica and trunci sciatica were analyzed and differentiated. The prescriptions were written. For the radicular sciatica the main points were Ashi and BL54. The assistant points were GV3. For the plexus sciatica the main points were Ashi and GB30. The assistant points were BL32 and BL28. For the trunci sciatica the main point was GB30. The assistant points were BL36, BL40, GB34, BL60. G6805 electrical needle was used on the main points. The alleviative effect was rapid. The operation was safe and convenient. Evaluated by VSA, the pain degree was decreased by 50-80% after one treatment. The alleviative effect would last from several hours to 24 hours. Among the 128 cases, 116 cases were cured and 12 cases became better. The treatment on all cases was effective. It was verified clinically that the prescriptions used less points and their therapeutic effects were satisfactory. This method was worth spreading.
